the

BOEING 747

I try to navigate you through the story and history of every
BOEING 747 produced since 30.September 1968. I will do it in many aspects reflecting the most interesting facts about this giant widebody. The goal of the website is to introduce as many events of each airframe as possible, starting with the roll-out date until withdrawal or scrapping.

I dedicate this website to The Incredibles. During the late 1960s, 50.000 Boeing employees belonged to a group called "The Incredibles." They were a group of construction workers, mechanics, engineers, secretaries, and administrators who made aviation history by building the 747 -- the largest civilian airplane in the world -- in less than 16 months. I would like to dedicate also to Joe Sutter (1921-2016), chief engineer and his group of experts at The Boeing Company, and those fellow Jumbo Jet fans reading these lines.

Hans Jakobsson is also recommendable. He designed and operated the largest 747-specific website between 1996 and 2000 - "The Boeing 747 Information Centre". I was a contributor to his site during those times.

New pages and information will be unveiled from time to time. For the time being you may write me questions, or suggestions at postmaster@boeing747.net e-mail.

Long live the
747
Gabor Kerekes, editor.
