2017.08.04. WASHINGTON (AFNS) --The Air Force awarded a Boeing contract modification Aug. 4, 2017, to purchase two commercial 747-8 aircraft for future modification to replace the two aging VC-25A Boeing 747-200 presidential support aircraft. The soon to be new AF1 aircraft are MSN 42416 + 42417.
2017.09.25. EVERETT, Wash., A7-BGB Boeing and Qatar Airways announced an order today for two 747-8 Freighters and four 777-300ERs (Extended Range), valued at $2.16 billion at list prices. The orders were previously unidentified on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website. The airline also received the first of its 747-8 Freighters at a delivery ceremony attended by His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive and Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Kevin McAllister.
2017.11.14. DUBAI, Boeing announced today an agreement with Cathay Pacific Airways to support its 747-8 freighter fleet through the Boeing Landing Gear Overhaul and Exchange Program. Through the offering, Cathay’s 747-8 freighter fleet, representing 14 aircraft, will receive fully overhauled and certified landing gear as well as AOG coverage.
2018.07.17. FARNBOROUGH, United Kingdom, Boeing, Volga-Dnepr Group and Cargo Logic Holding today signed a package of agreements that will further optimize the cargo transportation leaders' airplane fleet and global operations. The deals, announced at the 2018 Farnborough International Airshow, include a letter of intent to acquire 29 Boeing 777 Freighters, confirmation of an order for five Boeing 747-8 Freighters, the purchase of a crew pairing solution, and an agreement to work together on future freighter projects.
2020.04.26. CHICAGO, Boeing completed another COVID-19 transport mission, using a Boeing Dreamlifter to bring personal protective equipment (PPE) from Hong Kong to the United States. The Dreamlifter, a converted Boeing 747-400 Large Cargo Freighter, flew from Hong Kong to Greenville, South Carolina, with the face masks in its lower lobe. Following the delivery, the Dreamlifter will return to its home base in North Charleston, South Carolina, and deliver 787 Dreamliner parts in support of the global aerospace supply chain.
2020.05.11. CHICAGO, Boeing completed another set of COVID-19 airlift missions, deploying three Dreamlifter aircraft to transport more than 150,000 protective eye goggles and face shields from China to the United States. Similar to previous airlift missions flown by the Dreamlifter – a converted Boeing 747-400 Large Cargo Freighter – the medical cargo was transported in the lower lobe of all three aircraft, while 787 component parts were flown in the main deck cargo hold.
2020.07.01. CHICAGO, Boeing completed its 12th COVID-19 transport mission, using a Boeing Dreamlifter to bring personal protective equipment (PPE) to the United States. Similar to previous airlift missions facilitated by Boeing, the Dreamlifter – a converted Boeing 747-400 Large Cargo Freighter – flew the mission with the face masks stored in the lower lobe of the airplane. Following the delivery in Salt Lake City, the Dreamlifter will return to its home base in North Charleston, South Carolina, for a 787 components delivery in support of the global aerospace supply chain.
